The Greek Gods and Goddesses of Greek Mythology were known for coming down from atop Mount Olympus and medal with the Greeks. They were also known for having affair with humans. The Greeks themselves worshiped their gods but they were not able to go to Mount Olympus and visit the gods themselves. The Greek people worshiped these gods and goddesses because each god/goddess was a symbol of nature or something that is revered by the Greek people. For example there are gods that control the sun or the seas and there are goddesses that control childbirth or wisdom.
